OAI, Inc. (formerly "Office of Applied Innovations") is a Chicago-based workforce development agency and an on-going partner of ACF.  OAI trains approximately 2500 participants through its various training programs each year.  Under funding from NIEHS, OAI is seeking to partner with ACF to deliver worker safety training to incumbent workers in Pennsylvania.  OAI also serves as a technical advisor to ACF for the OSHA training and certifications.  OAI's environmental remediation training is now in its 11th year. 

Dr. Raquel Pinderhughes is Professor of Urban Studies at San Francisco State University. Her teaching, research and community activism focus on improving quality of life for people living and working in cities. She is an expert on green collar jobs, coining the term in 2004 to describe manual labor jobs related to improvements in environmental quality. Her landmark study, Green Collar Jobs" An Analysis of the Capacity of Green Business to Provide High Quality Jobs for Men and Women with Barriers to Employment, informs our understanding of how to harness green business growth to fight both pollution and poverty and provides critical guidance to the Oakland Green Jobs Corps, the nation's first attempt to carry out the model that Pinderhughes' study proposes. JASTECH (Juveniles Active in Science & Technology) Development Services is a non-profit company established in 1998, by Jerome and Gloria Shabazz. This company was created with a primary focus of contributing to the improvement of the Environment, Education and Public Health. Its mission is to develop and preserve our Natural Environment, improve Public Health, and promote Personal Enrichment. One of the major objectives of JDS is to remove barriers for the public's access to information that will advance the quality of life for citizens living in the inner city.
